In fact their knowledge doesn't extend beyond the fictional portrayals of Colombia in trivial Hollywood films, that and cocaine and coffee. But yes, there definitively needs to be an overhaul of global advertising. Colombia is truly a beautiful country with wonderful culture, ambiance, people, weather, architecture (especially with the developments in the last two decades or so) and a country with copious natural, exotic beauty, which emanates not only from our breathtaking landscapes but also from the people.

There is a huge market for adventurers (like backpackers and people who just enjoy traveling) as well as families, honeymooners, etc. which has yet to be tapped! Also, people who have a fondness for archaeological discoveries or who want to learn about extinct civilizations like the Chibcha and other Andean civilizations would have a ball in Colombia.

In fact I utterly believe that we are sitting on a lot of money that could not only come from transient travelers, but also from people who would, as the advertisement said stay there... Plus the subsequent money that they would spend (hotels, car rentals, food, and material goods, etc.) I just hope that COLOMBIANS tap into this money before some overseas entity realizes the immense potential that this country has and starts exploiting it. Hence, we need to do this. And you, Camilo have that BA in advertising, I'd get planning right the fuck now...
